One year ago today, I created Hist-Fic Chick and published my very first blog post. I hope I don’t sound terribly cliche when I say that I feel this blog has really come a long way. The other day when I told one of my blogging friends Amy that my blogoversary was coming up, she said “Congrats on your two year blogoversary!” and you have no idea how happy that made me. No, lovely readers, it’s only my one year blogoversary, but the fact that a fellow blogger felt my presence here on the web so much so that she thought I had been around for double the amount of time…well, suffice to say that it made me smile for the rest of the day.
But all gloating aside, I’d like to thank the people who have really helped shape this blog into what it is today, and that person, dear reader, is you! For what would a blog be without its fans and followers? If a tree falls in a forrest and no one is there to hear it…
…well, you get the picture. I am so thankful to have the wonderful support of my readers! I love reading your thoughtful comments on my posts and reviews – most of the time they make me smile, and they make me think and contemplate new opinions and ideas. How lonely this place would would be without the lively discourse that takes place here regularly! Now, I know that not all of you are frequent commenters, and some of you have probably never commented at all, and that’s perfectly all right (I never commented on blogs until I had my own…But I still do encourage you to do so regardless!). I just want all of you to know how very fortunate I feel to have you out there, reading Hist-Fic Chick and indulging in the celebration of history through great literature.
So, to celebrate and say a heartfelt THANK YOU to my readers, I present you with my most extravagant giveaway yet!

Happy, happy blogoversary to you Allie! I found your blog very early on in my book blogging "career" (my one year is coming up early in August). What a generous Giveaway. I am so glad I found the Historical Fiction Roundtable site and by extension your site and those of your fellow Roundtable bloggers. I have enjoyed and appreciated the quality of books presented and reviewed. The guest posts and posts on topics related to books have been most interesting. Your reviews and interviews are always well done and informative. It has also resulted in a Wish List much longer than I would have liked. All but one of these books are on that Wish List. That one I am lucky enough to have.Your site is lovely. I look forward to following it until you have your second Blogoversary and beyond.Congratulations and best of luck for your second year.
